British caravan “Viva Palestina†leaves Algerian soil for Tunisia.
The British convoy “Life line from Britain to Gaza- Viva Palestina†has left the Algerian soil amid hearty farewells at the Algerian-Tunisian borders and was at the reception of the caravan on the other side, the Algerian council Belbaki Rachid along with the Tunisian mayor of the town of Houidjet Sakhri Ouennes.

The convoy arrived yesterday to the town of Constantine (eastern Algeria) to find on their arrival to town a delegation from the Algerian Red Crescent who gave them food and transferred to two youth hostels to have some rest.

For security reasons, the Algerian authorities have changed at the last minute the caravan’s itinerary, initially scheduled to pass through Constantine towards Annaba to be replaced by the axis Constantine-Tebessa avoiding the area where a terrorist act was blamed for the killing of nine security guards in the province of Jijel three days ago.

This unexpected decision has disappointed the inhabitants of Annaba, who were preparing themselves to welcome the caravan.

To recall the British convoy is set to dwell three days in Tunisia, according to its leader, to carry its way towards the Libyan territory then Egypt, where intense negotiations are underway with the Egyptian president’s wife to facilitate its entry through “Raffah” passage.
